It’s over, and I hit my top target of under 3hrs 30min and managed to run it in 3:29:26. So I’m very happy, obviously, also in quite a lot of pain. To my delight and in complete contrast to the forecast, which said it was going to be warm and sunny, the day dawned grey
With less than a week to go until the big day I am now concentrating on the rest and recovery part of my training. I ran a slow half marathon on Saturday and I’ll run with the BRATs on Monday evening as a last effort but apart from my usual cycle to work I don’t
The last couple of weeks I’ve been hammering out the long runs, 21.5 miles is longer than suggested for marathon training but psychologically I find it comforting to have trained beyond 20 miles. Thankyou to all those people who have sponsored me so far, I’m now over a third of the way to my target

I took a trip over to Austria for Christmas, only just got around to putting some of the pics up. The snow was so good I didn’t take my camera up very often as I was enjoying the skiing so much. The weather was so good it was like skiing in March.
It snowed in the UK, and there was the usual chaos and everywhere looked pretty. So I took some photo’s of snow and some of the things people do it.
Off to Portugal for a bit of late season sun, sand and surf. Faro also has pretty decent bar scene. A shout out to Portugal Safaris for looking after us over the hot and dusty interior and being a fantastic guide.
